How to file a UK trademark

Note that trademarks are registered against different goods and services, meaning that identical trademarks can be registered for different goods and services. For example, the trademark 'Duffy' could be registered for both socks and beer by different people. The Trademarken software is smart, in that when searching for existing registered trademarks, it automatically takes into account your goods and services, and only highlights those trademarks which have been registered for the same or related goods and services.
How to choose your Trademark Goods and Services
Trademark goods and services are divided into 45 classes for convenience. When filing your trademark, you must select one or more classes in which to file your trademark. For example, if your trademark relates to computers, you would file your trademark in class 9. Of course, picking classes is difficult.
